Cmed occupies a unique position in the clinical research industry, not only as an expert in the operational delivery of clinical trials but also as a developer of its own technologies for managing clinical data. Over the last 16 years this has included Timaeus® and now encapsia™, a new game changing Cloud based Clinical Data Suite.

This is a very exciting time to join Cmed, as we start to leverage our already considerable expertise in the delivery of clinical trials with encapsia™. This unique combination of operational expertise and the latest technology, helps reduce the costs and increase the speed of developing new medicines, essential to both improving and saving the lives of patients.



We are currently looking for a dynamic and self-motivated Director of Business Development to join our sales team in the USA.



  • Expand Cmed client base by actively and methodically developing a target list and then prospecting all targets to establish a valid business reason for initial meeting
  • Match Cmed solutions with potential client challenges and needs
  • Receive RFPs and review RFP detail provided by prospective clients to ensure adequate and effective preparation of project proposals.
  • Lead and defend bid-defense meetings
  • Manage existing clients to ensure securement of repeat business
  • Act as mentor for junior sales colleagues.


  • 5 years business development or sale experience
  • 3 + years sales experience in the life sciences, pharmaceutical, or CRO industry
  • Demonstrated experience selling to small pharmaceutical or biotechnology clients
  • Bachelors Degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Nursing or related field of study and/or equivalent experience
  • Strong communication and presentation skills is a must
  • Determination to close the deal and resilience to keep prospecting are imperative
