business model

Cmed benefits from the synergy created by combining both a CRO and IT vendor within a single company. As a result Cmed can provide complete tailored solutions to meet your needs, whether 'full services' are required — such as clinical project management, monitoring, paper CRF or eCRF data capture and management through to statistics and medical reporting — or just the hosting of a complete data capture and management database for clients to manage for themselves.

The continuum of services offered by Cmed is represented below:

Cmed's technology, Timaeus, underpins Cmed's services. It allows Cmed to provide the Investigator sites with the ability to choose the data capture medium that suits them &mdash for example paper CRFs, web-based eDC or a powerful, fast, portable, wireless eDC appliance suited to clinic use, all seamlessly managed inside a single system. This model has earned praise from Investigator sites and those clients who wish to partner with their sites, especially in the area of Phase IIIB and Phase IV studies. Sites particularly like the wireless, portable eDC appliance that unshackles them from internet connections and makes Timaeus very clinic-friendly.

While the rest of the industry grapples with eDC, its benefits and increasingly apparent shortcomings, Cmed has forged ahead with new technology in the new era of intelligent Data Acquisition and Management (iDAM). The approach has been to build a single system able to efficiently handle all aspects of the clinical data ecosystem, from paper CRFs, electronic data capture at sites and by patients, through to capturing and merging data from laboratories and medical devices &mdash portably and wirelessly for good measure! For more details and a downloadable discussion paper, see the iDAM approach.

Timaeus is the iDAM system design engineered, deployed and used by Cmed. No eDC or Clinical Data Management System (CDMS) even comes close to the combination of functionality, speed and flexibility of Timaeus.
