ASCO 2017 Summary
Written by Valentina Zhukova-Harrill, Vice President of Medical Services
It’s always a pleasure for me to attend the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Annual Meeting and this year was no exception. The sheer size and scale of the conference is astounding, with over 35,000 oncology professionals, cancer researchers and patient advocates gathered in Chicago for the most important oncology meeting in the world.
The ASCO Annual Meeting not only gets bigger each year, but better. A busy and varied program of informative scientific meetings, educational conferences and professional workshops took place over five days, packed full of people wanting to discuss, debate and listen to the latest research, new treatment breakthroughs, advances in patient care, therapeutic options, ongoing disputes in the field of oncology, etc. It was great to take part in these important discussions and learn more about the significant progress being made in the fight against cancer.
Cmed was also happy to be exhibiting at ASCO for the first time this year; meeting with many wonderful people who share our passion for oncology and are actively looking for new ways to improve the way they run their oncology clinical trials. As an exhibitor it’s always exciting to get the opportunity to talk about what we are doing at Cmed and demonstrate how our new encapsia clinical data suite enables us to set up and conduct trials more efficiently. Our booth was a hub for numerous discussions about clinical trials and it was great to see so much engagement from visitors.
Thank you ASCO 2017 for a warm welcome and the opportunity to make new friends and professional connections!
