Physicians, students, researchers and service providers converged this week on Chicago for the 2018 meeting of the American Association for Cancer Research. Overall attendance at the conference was nearly 17,000. Even bone-chilling wind and snow could dampen the enthusiasm for this much-anticipated event.
The AACR conference covers every aspect of cancer research and treatment, from basic information all the way to presentations about futuristic treatments currently being developed. World class scientists took to the podium and the jammed hallways to share their research and forge personal and professional alliances.
2018 marks the 110th anniversary of the AACR, and this year the quantity and quality of the presentations was exceptionally high. Poster presentations numbered nearly a thousand. Cmed team members attending the conference were busy visiting with attendees at our booth, as well as cheering on clients and potential clients in their poster sessions.
Interest in Cmed’s oncology –focused services and the transformative advantages that our data management platform encapsia can provide made the Cmed booth a popular destination. A number of these interactions focused on encapsia’s capacity to collect cell and biomarker data from labs and to make that data immediately available for display, revealing live data insights.
A conference like this one shows just how much energy and investment is focused on oncology research, and validates Cmed’s relentless pursuit of facilitating safer, faster trials for our sponsor clients. Every hour counts in the work that Cmed performs to provide capable, experienced teams to execute the oncology trials that are making a real difference for patients around the world.
